The best girl there ever was…
In early February 2023, a severely malnourished dog was found chained up and starving on the streets of Koh Samui. She had been used for illegal breeding and as her fertile days were over, she was cruelly abandoned.
Niall Harbison, founder of Happy Doggo Land, took her in and started an intensive care programme involving medications, acupuncture and nourishing foods. Once cleaned up and with her fur growing back, she was discovered to be a Golden Retriever.
Despite being badly treated by humans, Tina responded to the love and care being provided and became the unofficial Happy Doggo Land mascot.

Tina quickly amassed a huge online following, and her patience and gentle nature made her a role model for many of the other guests at Happy Doggo Land.
She loved being taken for rides to the beach, playing with tennis balls and smelling the flowers on Koh Samui. She was a wonderful surrogate Mother to Solo and didn’t have a mean bone in her body.

A little bit about the charity…
Tina's Hospital
Tina left a lasting legacy on Happy Doggo (and indeed people all over the world). To honor her memory, we can’t imagine anything greater than a hospital built in her name–dedicated exclusively to saving Thailand’s most vulnerable street dogs.
Unfortunately, despite all the care and attention, Tina passed away with severe kidney failure. Her years of neglect just couldn’t be undone. Niall, and everyone following Happy Doggo Land was devastated. Tina’s wonderful nature, despite her years of neglect, was a reminder that life is short and should be full of happy memories, not grudges or payback.
To honour Tina’s life, Niall decided that a hospital would be built in her memory to help other street dogs receive the care and medical attention they otherwise would not get.
